The Osun State Command of the Amotekun Corps has taken steps to ensure a peaceful election as the general election in 2023 draws closer.

The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said that there would be a lot of gathering of information because the corps' employees are working with its sources to get useful information to stop any potential threats in every part of the state.

According to a press release that was made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday by the PRO of the corps, Yusuf Idowu, Adewinmbi said that Amotekun would be sent on the patrol to help the Nigeria Police stop crime before, during, and after the state's upcoming general election.

He went on to say that the corps is also starting high-visibility vehicle patrols in the Osogbo metropolis and its surroundings to discourage potential criminals and help the police catch any criminals trying to enter the state through the borders.

He urged all indigenes and state residents to be aware of their immediate surroundings, to report suspicious individuals to security agencies, and to avoid overexposing valuables.
