Adams Oshiomhole, the governor of the Edo state, has commended the Muhammadu Buhari’s government’s clampdown on corruption.

The Edo state governor spoke a rally organising by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to welcome over 5,000 members of the PDP in the three senatorial districts into the party.
The immediate past Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Power, Patrick Ikhariale; Abbas Braimah; and Bisi Idaomi are among the other defectors.

Oshiomhole stated that the Goodluck Jonathan’s government wasted the nation’s resources but that things had changed constructively since Buhari took the reins of the power.
He said: “President Buhari has a huge task of rebuilding a country that has been so grossly mismanaged. I believe God loves Nigeria so much that he gave us President Buhari at the time he did. Now when you read newspapers, you can imagine if Jonathan had continued in office, where we could have been today. You can only imagine that.

“For the first time, big people are being asked to account, in the past we only hear of governors, local government people, commissioners but this time we are seeing Minister of Finance confessing like a witch craft how they took money and even co-opt their children so they didn’t just share money for the party they shared for their families

“When a Minister pays money into her own personal account, we have seen national security being redefined to meet the security of a political party to secure the party in office rather than secure the nation even in the face of a devastating insurgency.”

However, Oshiomhole has advised immediate past PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih to return the N260m he supposedly collected from a former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki.
The money was part of the $2.1bn meant for the purchase of weapons that would strengthen the Nigerian army fight against Boko Haram insurgents.

“We have seen even the godfather’s name being mentioned. Even at old age, he collected N260m, and I want the godfather to deny or to confirm it. If he wants to refund the money, I will collect it from him and I will go to Abuja without deducting anything from it, and I will hand it over to President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Since the President Buhari’s government began its operation of cleaning Nigeria, Adams Oshiomhole have been in the limelight.
Not too long ago, Oshiomhole blamed a former minister under Jonathan’s government Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for cornering the sum of $6 billion .
However, it is on record that Adams Oshiomhole in his first term in office, traveled out of Nigeria 52 times.
