The policemen were said to be on watch along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Road when they were shot dead. National representative for the police, DCP Jimoh Moshood, said that the group was going by a Commissioner of Police Bala Ciroma. The group includes four Deputy Commissioners, two Assistant Commissioners and a Chief Superintendent. The representative said that the group had started examination and have 21 days to finish the task. "The Inspector General of Police therefore beseeches individuals from people in general in the Federal Capital Territory to coordinate with the Investigation Team," he said. "Any individual from people in general with helpful data about the killings will be valued and can utilize the accompanying numbers– 08032003913, 08061581938 and 07057337653– to achieve the Investigation Team.''
