A fatal accident occurred in the Enugada region of Lafenwa, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday, leaving six persons struggling for their lives.

An eyewitness who requested to remain unnamed told journalists that a truck, believed to have lost control, collided with a vehicle, a commercial motorcycle, and several pedestrians on the roadside, resulting in severe injuries.

The eyewitness reported that the incident transpired around 9PM on Thursday.

“I think the truck lost control and rammed into a vehicle and a motorcycle including some pedestrians who are walking by the roadside,” The PUNCH quoted the eyewitness saying.

A video captured by newsmen at the accident scene of the incident revealed the lifeless and disfigured bodies of several victims, accompanied by the anguished cries of sympathizers in the background.

In a telephone conversation with newsmen, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, confirmed the incident and stated that rescue operations are currently in progress.

Akinbiyi said, “There is a fatal road traffic accident at Enugada Lafenwa. The rescue operation is ongoing.”
