It is a sad reality that many young people are held in prisons over varying offences. A young Nigerian lady still in her teenage years suffered the fate of being remanded in prison.

Fortunately, she finished her West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams before going into custody.

Thankfully, some well-meaning Nigerians, under the auspices of Harrison Gwamnishu, did not leave her case to fate and decided to help in all ways possible to secure her earliest release.

With the odds being in her favour, she was able to get her freedom before the start of her early twenties. When she was released, she was asked if she wanted to further her education or learn a trade.

She said she wanted to return to school since her WAEC result was good enough to secure her admission to a tertiary institution. One of her benefactors promised to sponsor her undergraduate studies from the 100 Level to graduation.

This will certainly aid her in getting back on her feet and reintegrating into society. When Legit contacted Harrison Gwamnishu, he revealed that the young girl was falsely accused of stealing.

"We just dropped her now at Nnobi where she stays with her mother. She was offered scholarship and also given a phone and cash gift. She has been in prison from January. Accused of stealing", Harrison said.

Harrison also stated that the case has been settled and the young girl has chosen to study Law in school.
