After Friday's gunmen attack, 39 students from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, in Kaduna are still missing.

In a release, Commissioner for Internal Security Samuel Aruwan provided the latest detail.

The government had previously reported that troops had rescued 180 students and faculty members from the institution.

There are 39 students absent, with 23 females and 16 males. State officials, according to Aruwan, are in close touch with the college's management.

He promised that security agencies' efforts to save the victims would bear fruit.

Since 2020, kidnappings for ransom have risen in the North-West. The majority of their priorities are educational institutions.
