President Muhammadu Buhari said that violent protests in the country would no longer be tolerated.

During his meeting with 36 governors on Tuesday, Buhari said this while deliberating on the questions posed on End SARS.

We're not stopping someone protesting, so you're not setting up roadblocks and breaking windscreens. Which government is going to approve it? ’’

Buhari announced that violent protests will no longer be tolerated, adding that "democracy does not imply confusion or lack of responsibility."

He noted that the coverage of the End SARS violence in the international press was not balanced, explicitly citing the CNN and BBC for omitting the number of police officers killed, police stations that were burned, and the prisons that were thrown open for prisoners to flee.

“I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened. (They said we are all at fault. We don’t have the sympathy of anyone. We are on our own).’’
