The Gombe State Police Command on Monday confirmed the killing of a lecturer, Malam Sulaiman Umar and a Cameroonian, Malam Zainab Mahmuda at Kashere junction on the Gombe-Kumo Road.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Ahmed Usman.

Usman said a gang of armed robbery suspects killed the duo on Sunday night at about 11:45p.m adding that the suspected robbers were about eight in number.


“Umar, until his death, was a lecturer in the Department of Arabic Studies, Federal University, Kashere.

“Investigation into the incident has commenced,” the spokesman added.
