Workers under the aegis of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) are currently protesting against the state government over non-payment of several months’ salaries.

PUNCH reports that they marched in their hundreds, most of them in all black outfits, from Five junction to Ring Road before making their way to Sapele road.

They called on Governor Adams Oshiomhole to pay their salaries adding that “No Salaries, No Election”. One of the protesters had “18 Months no Salaries!” on her placard.

The State Chairman of NULGE, Edward Ilenikhena had disclosed to PUNCH on Tuesday that the workers would embark on an indefinite strike after the protest.
