Sector Commander of the commission in the state, Adegoke Adetunji noted that no fewer than 11 people sustained various degrees of injuries. An eyewitness told the Vanguard that the tanker, loaded with petrol had a mechanical problem and stopped on the road, while the bus and truck rammed into it resulting in explosion. He explained that the tanker caught fire in the process and other two vehicles were burnt, adding that the dead and the injured had been taken to a hospital. “We can’t even give you the number plates of the affected vehicles because, by the time we got there, they were all burnt beyond recognition,’’ he said. Adetunji pointed out that over speeding and recklessness must have caused the accident. He, however, advised motorists to avoid excess speed while driving and to always be at alert.
