Intending pilgrims from Bauchi state will pay N1,523,123 per head as the 2017 Hajj fare.
Announcing the fare at a press conference at the Bauchi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Alhaji Salisu Idris said that the state announced its fare after an earlier announcement by the National Hajj Commission.
It will be recalled that the board had earlier collected deposits in multiples of N250,000 in instalments over five months to reach N1,250,000 before the announcement of the 2017 Hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission.
He said that since the fare has been fixed at N1,523,123, intending pilgrims who made initial deposits are expected to complete the payment within two weeks.
Alhaji Idris said that intending pilgrims who made an initial deposit of N250,000 will pay a balance of N1,273,123, those who made a deposit of N500,000 will pay N1,023,123 and those who deposited N750,000 will pay the balance of N773,123.
Intending pilgrims who earlier deposited N1,000,000 will pay a balance of N523,123 while those who deposited N1,250,000 as initial deposit will pay N273,123 as balance.
According to the Director, the fare to be paid by the pilgrims exclude the N38,000 Hadaya payment as that will be paid by the pilgrims depending the type of pilgrimage the pilgrim wants to perform.
