Nigerian community in the U.S. has condemned the shooting carried out by a Nigerian doctor, Henry Bello, who killed one person and injured several others.

The Organisation for the Advancement of Nigerians (OAN), in a statement issued by its President, Solomon Bakare, said the Nigerians in the U.S. are the best of their kind.

“We like to state categorically that Dr Bello’s dastardly act is by no means reflective of the exemplary service and professionalism of thousands of Nigerian physicians and other healthcare practitioners all over the United States, who have dedicated their lives and careers to saving lives and are highly respected in the medical field.”

OAN is the arrowhead of the Nigerian Independence Day Parade Committee, a coalition of Nigerian religious, professional, and socio-cultural organisations that plans the annual Nigerian Independence Day Parade in New York City.
