On Sunday, September 27, Governor Babagana Zulum's convoy was under attack by Boko Haram, barely 48 hours after his convoy was attacked by insurgents on Friday, September 25.
The assault on Sunday took place along the Baga-Kukawa axis of Borno and it was gathered that Nigerian Air Force troops were immediately mobilized to the scene of the incident and were able to foil the assault by the insurgents.
Vanguard claimed that the assault resulted in the shooting of a car / bus rear tyre carrying journalists attached to the governor, but the driver maneuvered and drove the car to escape the scene on the flat wheel.
During the attack, one of the soldiers attached to the convoy reportedly sustained injuries.
