Author Topic: Facebook Meet Up 2024: Nigerian Youths, Students Urged To Connect, Imbibe Values  (Read 67754 times)

THE participants of the Facebook Meet Up 2024, have been urged to build a network, and add value to themselves as the theme for this year edition, tagged; "Network, Learn and Engage".

A program powered by Epic Essence Events of the Department of Mass Communication Fountain university, Osogbo, held on Tuesday, 21st of May at the university Hall, in Osun state capital.

The speakers at the event charged the students to keep networking, learning and engaging for a better positioning in life, as value matters, one of the panelists Mr Taoheed Alimi, PRO fountain University said.

"Networking is to form relationships with those who'll help get you to where you want to go, and the earlier you start building up your network, the better. That's why it's important to start networking in school — before you're even ready to enter the workforce."

"Endeavor to learn a basic skill that will help you to thrive in this world, And be consistent in whatever you do".

Olajide Ajibola, while speaking with Journalists, said this meet up is channeled to prepare Students to be useful for the society.

"This meet up is all about summary of what students are going to face after school, preparing them for life after campus and for them to be useful in the society."

He encouraged other departments on campus to emulate this program.

On his part, Dr Rasheed Adebiyi, narrated the Facebook Meet up as a program to equip the students on practical and to acquire a skill.

"The program encouraged the students to go into practicals to equip them for the skills required and needed for them to be relevant in the society, and after school, as employeers are now after skills and not only the certificate'

Other panelists who spoke at the event are; Abdulafeez Jide W, Founder the Palm Academy; John D. Afolabi, Digital Communication specialist; Engr Olabintan A., CEO WeGoHostU; and Olajide Ajibola, Director of marketing Mazota Nig.; Sikiru Obarayese of Nigerian Tribune and Yakubu Atanda of NaijInfo as Moderators.

"They all encouraged the youths to make use of Facebook, and other social media to promote their personality and brand and be intentional about it".

The program encouraged the students to go into practicals to equip them for the skills required and needed.

This Online Newspaper further gathers that members of the Osun Online Publishers Association graced the event.
