The governor’s speech while presiding over a meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council for the Bayelsa state governorship election at the Sokoto Governor’s lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, Tuesday, put to rest speculations that he opted out as the chairman of the campaign council. Governor Adams Oshiomhole and President Muhammadu Buhari The speculations had arisen following his altercation with Sylva over the governorship primary in Bayelsa and the purported rejection was hailed by the Ijaw Elders Forum (IEF), a group supporting the Bayelsa state governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Seriake Dickson. It is very significant to us as a party,” Oshiomhole explained. The Edo governor was recently described as a drowning man by an ex-governor of the state, Chief Lucky Igbinedion for ordering a probe into his (Igbinedion’s) alleged money laundering during his tenure as the head of the state.
