OSOGBO HOSTS THE NIGERIA AIRFORCE BASE.

Genuine sons and daughters as well as lovers of Osogbo have been charged to disregard a rumour making the rounds that Osogbo is losing out in siting an Air Force Base in Osun.

The rumour is an offshoot of a petition purportedly written by a group in the town.
Addressing representatives of the communities at a meeting in Osogbo, Senator Ajibola Basiru charged indigenes and residents of Osogbo to take the said petition as a pinch of salt, an issue not worth be-labouring as all steps have been concluded to site the the School of Remedial Studies of the Nigerian Airforce in Osogbo.

Senator Basiru clarified that the School has already taken off at Osogbo Grammar School as its temporary site. He added that only the barracks is at Kelebe, Iragbiji Road, Osogbo.




The Senator disclosed that a couple of weeks ago, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola had interfaced with the Ataoja of Osogbo land through the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Remi Omowaiye with documents to underscore the fact that the Airforce Base is sited in Osogbo.

Engineer Omowaiye who was at the meeting also tendered the documents for all to see, x-raying all the efforts and steps taken by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and Senator Ajibola Basiru to ensure that what belongs to Osogbo does not elude the State Capital.

In their separate responses, each community leader including Alhaji Yusuf Efe, Babaawo Taye Araba, Alhaji Eniafe thumbed up for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and Senator Ajibola Basiru for their roles at seeing to the development of Osogbo in terms of infrastructure.

Expressing satisfaction with the explanations of the Federal lawmaker and Engineer Omowaiye, the meeting resolved to be acting as Spokespersons of their various communities with a view to enlightening them on issues that have to do with the development of Osogbo and the Government's efforts in that regard. They also warned foxy individuals in Osogbo not to sell the town for a pot of porridge and stop acting Judas for a six pence.

The Communities present were Oke Baale, Isale Agbe, Owoope, Isale Osun and Oke popo.
