British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Friday hold its Osun State Governorship live debate in Yoruba language.

The debate took place at Osun State University (Uniosun) and candidates were accompanied by their party chieftains.

Four gubernatorial candidates for the next week governorship election in Osun State on Friday attended the debate programme anchored by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Yoruba Service.

Aspirant that attended the debate programme are;

1. Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola of APC.

 2. Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti of ADP.

3. Senator Iyiola Omisore of SDP and

4. Alhaji Fatai Akinade Akinbade of ADC.


ShegMarioTv released the Osun State All Aspirant  Debate 2018 Election video. From the beneath clip, APC candidate, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola said that the huge debt incurred by the current administration headed by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was to build worthwhile infrastructure in the state.

The proceedings of the debate were conducted in Yoruba anchored by Olubusola Afolayan.

According to Independent, Candidates took questions in diverse areas as Education especially on the crisis-ridden Ladoke Akintola University jointly owned by Osun and Oyo States, the position of the state in West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations, healthcare, payment of workers salary, the debt profile of the state and corruption, among others.

Oyetola said the debt situation in the state is not precarious as payment terms were being followed with early 2019 exit from one of the bonds and another to be liquidated in 2020.

The former Chief of Staff to outgoing Governor Rauf Aregbesola, pointed at the massive road construction across the state to justify the need for the loans.
