The member representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency, Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar, was shot dead in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital during the election on Saturday.

He died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He was confirmed dead by the Head of Public Relations of the hospital, Mr Toye Akinrinlola, at 8:20 pm.

He was shot in the eye in Lalupon area of Lagelu Local Government and rushed to the UCH for treatment.
It was unclear as at press time those responsible for the shooting as police could not give details of the incident.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Gbenga Fadeyi, said the command was yet to get full details of the incident.
