The rumored kidnapping of Mohammadu Buhari Jamiu, a Muslim cleric from Ilorin, caused panic in the early hours of Friday in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

A now-viral video with the inscription "Buhari Omo Musa" in the background said he was kidnapped at his home in Ilorin early on Friday.

DAILY POST's findings, on the other hand, proved that Buhari Omomusa, the real popular and prolific preacher, is safe, sound, and healthy, denying rumors that he had been kidnapped.

In the background of the video that has gone viral, you can hear the voice of the alleged abducted cleric's wife requesting assistance to help the family pay the N5 million ransom demanded by the unknown kidnappers.

Another male voice in the video gave the impression that the unidentified kidnappers reportedly demanded a ransom of N30 million, but that they were reduced to N5 million after negotiations.

Fans of Buhari Omomusa expressed concern and prayed for his safe release from the abductors in the wake of the kidnapping.

Some people think the development is a case of mistaken identity because of the same names, but others think it's a scam to trick the public and government.

Buhari Omomusa responded to the report on the radio station, claiming that he is safe and that he was not kidnapped.

SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the state Police Command's spokesman, described the video clip as fake when contacted by phone on Friday.

"The Alhaji Tunde Buhari, who was kidnapped in Oluwalose Community in the Oko-Olowo area of Ilorin, had been rescued and made public," he stated.

He went on to say, "Even the second victim kidnapped along with Tunde Buhari has also been rescued."

The two rescued victims reportedly went missing recently in the Oko-Olowo neighborhood of the Ilorin metropolis, which is the state capital.
