The cleric had reportedly told his congregation that he had a revelation to destroy all the shrines in Ketu community. Fagbere got stuck in the shrine, prompting residents to raise alarm. The priests of the shrine insisted that they must perform certain rituals on the victim before he would be released. Vanguard reports that the intervention of the Alaye of Ayetoro, Oba Abdulaziz Adelakun, saved the cleric as he was treated by the priests before he regained consciousness. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, when contacted, confirmed the incident, adding that the victim might be charged for sacrilege and malicious damage if the traditionalists lodge a complaint against the pastor. “Everybody has right to worship anything he so desires”, Oyeyemi said.
