The command made this known through its spokesman, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole. It was reported that a policeman attached to a bank in the Apapa area shot a tanker driver in the head for allegedly refusing to re-park his tanker which he had parked in front of a bank, leading to chaos and burning down of banks. Famous-Cole explained that the 18 people that were arrested alongside the policeman were suspected to be the hoodlums who allegedly set two banks ablaze as a result of the police man’s alleged action. ”Contrary to reports making rounds in the news, only one tanker driver was shot. ”The policeman has been arrested and would be charged to court immediately. ”The Lagos State Police Command would like to address the members of the public about the rate of impunity and jungle justice in the state. ”We are no longer going to tolerate the act of lawlessness and impunity by members of the public,” Famous-Cole said.
