It was gathered that the suspects allegedly stole the goat from the owner’s compound in the night and made attempt to sell it to an hotelier in Asaba when nemesis caught up with them. It was learnt that after stealing the goat, the suspects put the goat in the tricycle and were heading to Asaba where they wanted to sell it to the buyer when operatives of the Nigerian Police Force and Asaba Community Vigilante Group caught them. An eye witness, Nkem Okafor, said that the suspects had contacted the buyer through telephone but when they were accosted by the security operatives, they could not give satisfactory explanation of the ownership of the goat and they were arrested. Confirming the arrest of the suspects, chairman, Asaba Vigilante Outfit, Nnamdi Chukwuedo said the suspects were arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation. He said, “ We were on patrol and suspected the movement of the suspects at about 10:30pm with the goat.
