Following the country's security difficulties and economic meltdown, Bamidele Salam, the honorable member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo, has advised Nigerians to vote APC out of office in order to tackle the country's crisis.
On Monday, Bamidele Salam issued the warning during a Media Parley organized by the Osun Online Media Practitioners Association in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.
He linked various agitations in the country to unresolved concerns on national issues cum frustration through disappointment on the promises made by the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Salam attributed problems facing Nigeria today to inability of the APC led government to provide dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
He said that unresolved concerns by different ethnic nationality cum frustration through disappointment on the promises made by the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government of President Muhammadu Buhari largely contributed to the insecurity in the country.
It was gathered that some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the East and some people in the Western part of the country are rooting for their respective nations to be carved out of the present Nigeria.
The lawmaker, however, said that those who are calling for secession have their concerns, fears and frustrations and urged the FG to constructively dialogue with them and give a listening ear to their yearnings.
According to him, “When people feel frustrated and believe that they can not get their way of redressing it, they resolve to extremism.”
Speaking on the continuation of the country beyond 2023, he said, “We remain stronger and healthier as a nation, if Nigeria breaks up today, we all have more to lose than what to gain.”
