This recap of Netflix's Shadow and Bone season 1, episode 2, "We're All Someone's Monster", contains spoilers.  There is something in particular about Alina, and that "something" is investigated more in section 2.

"We're All Someone's Monster" opens with Forich informing more youthful kids concerning a test they should take to figure out what their identity is; he venomously tells a more youthful Mal that they don't do tests for the "wiped out and harmed". The ending

Kaz reveals to Tante Heelen that he's taken Inej with him and when he returns, he'll settle with her — he gives her guarantee meanwhile — The Crow Club that he claims. They settle on it. As the episode finishes, Alina and Mal miss each other significantly. They are not used to being separated.

Shadow and Bone season 1, episode 2 keeps on building the characters and the world as we get familiar with intentions and what's genuinely in question.
