The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) has rejected the threat by the management of Osun State University to rusticate four thousand, four hundred and ten (4,410) students for not paying their school fees at the appropriate time.
The National Vice President of NANS, Mr Afolabi Aguda while addressing newsmen on Tuesday during a protest organised by the body in Osogbo today said the threat to rusticate the students was not acceptable given the current economic situation in the country.

He condemned the manner in which some policemen shot two students of the university recently over an allegation of internet fraud also known as Yahoo-Yahoo, lamenting that similar thing occurs often in many campuses across the country.
NANS said “In democratic setting, police should comply with the law and respect human rights. If the killings, harassment and extortion by police persist, Nigerian students would storm the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in a massive protest and occupy that office.”
