England are into the quarter-finals of the World Cup after a punishment shootout triumph over Colombia.

Eric Dier scored the conclusive spot kick after Jordan Pickford's staggering recovery from Carlos Bacca.

Harry Kane's first-half punishment hoped to have England on course for the last eight until Yerry Mina's last-pant header.

In any case, after a cheeky additional day and age, England kept their cool to win their first historically speaking World Cup punishment shootout.

Kane, Marcus Rashford and Kieran Trippier all found the net in the shootout yet Jordan Henderson saw his spared by David Ospina.

Colombia's Mateus Irube hit the banish from the spot and after Pickford had denied Bacca, Dier kept his cool to start wild scenes in Moscow. England had been in charge for the greater part of the hour and a half in Moscow and took a merited lead through Kane.

The Three Lions captain was pulled down in the territory and he kept his cool to score his 6th objective of the World Cup.

Colombia once in a while grieved the England barrier until the point that Pickford made a flying recovery to keep out Uribe's exertion.
